The wind sometimes blows birds out of

The trees, and the birds might even fall

For a second. But then they fly up and up,

Until they find a sturdier limb on which

To perch. Or they ride the breeze, feeling

The strength of the current in their

Feathers, enjoying the sensation and

Power of the mighty gusts. A bird

Becomes one with the air, be the air still

Or moving. A bird learns where the air is

Calm, and where it is strong, using both

To its advantage, responding to changes

As they occur. Make me like a bird!

I wish Walmart sold gorillas and African

Lions. But then that would mean

Someone would have to go trap them and

Sometimes kill them. So, I don’t. Besides, 

What would I do with a gorilla or a lion?

I was wondering if airplanes fly higher

When they have happy thoughts or if a

Cowboy can lasso a calf from a helicopter. 

Why?

I was wondering if trucks and cars can fill

Their tanks as much as they want for free

up in Heaven, or do they still have to pay

The going price per gallon. Why?

I was wondering if clouds sift snowflakes

Down or do they rain into the cold wind-

Ow sill and become snow on the ground

Or do snowmen build themselves when

There are no children around, like for

Christmas cards and decorations. Why?
