Per hour. I know I’d like some music if I

Was in a car for that long, going that fast.

It would make it much more fun. Why?

I was wondering if elephants would wear

Tennis shoes, if we made them to fit their

Feet. After all, they do a lot of walking.

Why?

I was wondering if Olympic swimmers

Hold their breaths while doing laps on

The surface of the water, or is it just when 

They are underneath the water. Why?

I was wondering if astronauts can see me

Eating my spaghetti if they use a really

Big telescope, or if they just have to

Imagine it to the best of their ability.

Why?

I was wondering if you like to eat ice

Cream cones late at night, or if you like to

Have them for breakfast. Why?

I was wondering if huge piles of dirt are

Really meant for anything more than for

Adults to play in their big sandboxes like

Us kids, only they have much bigger and

Better toys. Why?

The wind sometimes blows birds out of

The trees, and the birds might even fall

For a second. But then they fly up and up,

Until they find a sturdier limb on which

To perch. Or they ride the breeze, feeling

The strength of the current in their

Feathers, enjoying the sensation and

Power of the mighty gusts. A bird

Becomes one with the air, be the air still

Or moving. A bird learns where the air is

Calm, and where it is strong, using both

To its advantage, responding to changes

As they occur. Make me like a bird!
