Kamikaze

Walking round and round,

Spinning like a top.

Hope you had

A bag of gladness

To spend at the curiosity shop.

Fill the cup

To the rim.

Hope you catch

A great big brim.

Do you like

To run the course?

Horsing around,

And playing so forth?

I like the space

Between the eyes.

I like my pork chops

Grilled, not fried.

Do you see

The end of this shopping spree?

Did you spend

Every bit of your money?

How are you

At playing chicken?

I don’t mind

If I get a licking.

Tell the time

Oh, don’t be sorry.

Drink a beverage,

Kamikaze.

The Sun Sets

Waves crashing on the beach.

I feel peachy to know

The secret inside your mind.

I don’t mean to hide.

I just want an honest answer.

Do you prefer

Grilled or fried?

I’m not too picky.

I like both.

I haven’t smoked

In a month.

Terrible habit, it is.

The sun is setting

In the purple sky.

One last glimpse

And then it’s gone.

Scream Out Loud

Walking in a straight line.

Falling into a hole.

Crashing against steel doors.

Yelling at a foe.

Speaking with my last breath.

Stubbing hard my toe.

Stumbling on the sidewalk.

Crunching yummy Cheetos.

Dancing to a fast beat.

Jumping up and down.

Tossing back a cold one.

Cackling to a sound.

Do you hear the satire?

Do you see the clouds?

Do you feel the instinct?

Do you scream out loud?

At Peace

When Jesus commanded the storm

To cease and told the wind not to blow,

It could not have been calmer

Than my spirit is now,

Resting in the comfort of good medicine,

Therapy, family and friends,

And the rewards of a day well spent,

My emotions are like a ship

At one with the ocean,

Flexible and evenly balanced,

Moving with the currents of life

Around me. Please bless

All those that have brought me here,

And those that continue

To sustain me.

Thank you, Jesus,

For your grace.
