Blessed by You

When I met you,
I said to myself,
“There can only be one.”
So it is.

In this whole world,
I have never met anyone
That remotely compares to you.
Your gifts are many.

The way you talk,
The way you walk,
The way you laugh, and, yes,
Even the way you cry.

But the most distinguishing
Characteristic about you
Is the way you love.
You have a way

Of touching
What is most tender in a person,
Blessing it,
And watching it grow.

The heart of goodness
Thrives with you.
The hurting person
Is healed by you.

The starving person
Is fed by you.
The lonely person
Is welcomed by you.

We can all learn something
From watching your heart and mind
In action.
We are all blessed by you.
